Who We Are

Sandalan sa Amerika is an online support group for Filipino Overseas Workers in U.S.A. It aims to strengthen Filipino social network abroad and to provide venues where OFWs can relieve their emotional distress. Having the same culture and tradition, we believe that Filipino counselors are more adept to understand and to give counseling to fellow Filipino OFWs who might be experiencing loneliness, depression, and exploitation.

OUR COUNSELORS

Our counselors are ready to help Filipino migrant workers in North America and Canada through our counseling service online. They are professionally trained and skilled counselors with whom you can discuss your concern, questions and feelings in a comfortable and trusting environment.


Rina Ramos-Concepcion is a Ph. D. Candidate in Theology of Loyola School of Theology, Ateneo de Manila University. She graduated with the degree in Family Ministry at the Center for Family Ministries, Ateneo de Manila University. She is also a family-counselor of UGAT Foundation, Inc.; has authored Christian Living books for High School and Grade School and Values Education Sophomores.

This project is an affiliate of UGAT Foundation, Inc. Ugat is a Jesuit apostolate for grassroots families based in Ateneo de Manila University under the supervision of Fr. Nilo E. Tanalega, SJ. It conducts its ministry through psychological interventions and family systemic approaches. Since it deals with the disadvantaged sector of society, it aggressively monitors human rights issues which may grossly disenfranchise them. The cause of advocacy is close to its heart. Ordinarily though, enrichment and curative services are offered to this sector which composes the largest segment of the national population.
